I’ve been in love with no-chips for a while and while lately I have been doing it at home, I do for special occasions will splurge at the salon. Salon no chips are always longer lasting and more beautifully finished. Either way, however, I do not like going to the salon to remove it. Here are my 4 easy steps to removing it yourself, safely with my DIY no-chip manicure removal tips.
Step 1: Cut squares of Reynold’s Wrap aluminum foil (I used heavy duty but the regular will work also), then place a cotton ball or pad that has been saturated in acetone for natural nails in the center.
Step 2: Place nail directly on pad. Do not bother wiping it down first as you need to give it a little time.
Step 3: Wrap nail with foil making sure no air can get in and dry out your cotton ball/pad.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 on each nail. Let sit for 15 mins for a DIY no-chip and 30-45 for a salon no chip. The polish wipes off clean after.
File nails and coat with a strengthening top coat and leave polish free for a week just to harden your nails especially after removing a no chip from the salon as those are a bit harsher.
Reynold’s Wrap was kind enough to send me their heavy duty and their regular weight aluminum foil as I use both for my DIY beauty treatments such as deep conditioning treatments and at home hair color. I was not monetarily compensated for this post. What other beauty uses can you find for aluminum foil?
