I will not lie, since Sili from My Mamihood sent me a Snoogle, I haven’t been wanting to get out of bed. But truth is, I’m trying to take on an extra project so I need more hours in the day and sleeping in isn’t cutting it. Not to mention how long this week is going to be. I’m working on a marketing plan, bookkeeping my own business financial which has never been my strong suit, bringing you more quality posts because who cares that I am busy if I can’t tell you how to make it happen, and my baby is in school, with every added project under the sun and a ton of homework. I am tired to say the least. So coffee. Coffee is helping me get through the week. I love fancy coffee and all the add-ons. But all in all, here are 3 easy ways to start your Monday off right.
Have a morning ritual.
Try to get up a few minutes earlier than your kids, spouse, partner, pets or just earlier. Make yourself a good cup of coffee. I have a frother, french press, fancy cups that I was taught were just for guests but I use them. Then I drink it quietly while reading the news, checking Instagram, scrolling Pinterest, reading blogs, basically anything but actual work. This is you time. Enjoy it and relax but keep it at an hour and then its time to move on.
Do not book anything on Monday.
This one has been a game changer. I do not technically start my work week on Monday. I officially start it on Tuesday. I spend Monday getting organized, invoicing and doing admin work only. I know not everyone has that luxury but you can adjust this to fit your lifestyle and work schedules. I won’t even book a doctor’s appt on a Monday. Then, I clean my home, work on laundry, plan my wardrobe, order groceries, meal plan and prep.
Enjoy Your Sunday Night.
Don’t spend the day dreading about Monday and then spend the night planning for Monday because then Sunday is all about Monday. Stop it. Sunday is meant to spend however you wish, even if you barely peel from the couch. In the evening, have a quiet and relaxing dinner in case that luxury isn’t awarded during the week. Then get home and give yourself a face mask and relax. I know it is hard for me with kids but we try. Make Sunday about Sunday, the end of your weekend.
