Earlier this summer, we decided to start making over our backyard and the front of the house. We started by trying to remove the ugly bushes in the back only to find that they were so deeply compacted in a mix of dirt and cement that we couldn’t do it ourselves. Knowing this, the pine in the front that I hated was going to be even harder. We had to bite the bullet and hire landscapers to pull them out. My husband requested they add flowers just for me (I will show backyard pictures soon), along the back and off to the side, and put mulch everywhere. Much nicer than what we had and a great start. Of course, the flowers bring me joy.
In the meantime, I’ve been browsing ideas for a simple, pretty, and affordable ideas for the backyard and front yard.
Our A/C unit is an eyesore. I love the way it is covered with cedarwood in this backyard.
This makes me want to plan a more elaborate curb in the future!
This really makes me want to rethink the shed in the back. Workspace?
Here’s a small (grainy) picture of the house before we replaced the siding, windows, lighting, and added the flowers and house numbers. It was all I could find, sorry.
And here we are so far:
We still want to paint the brick and change the garage door to match the front door but that will take time since darling Mr. Garza just splurged on having my backyard filled with hydrangeas as well. Sorry you guys, this is starting to be more fun than getting dressed!
