Let me start by saying I finally only have one in diapers. Christmas came early apparently. Another gift I got was a nice stock up on products for babies. Thanks to my partnership with JOHNSON’S® baby, we are fully stocked for the winter on a few products we all know and love, DESITIN® multi-purpose ointment, DESITIN® maximum strength original paste, & DESITIN® rapid relief diaper rash cream. Here are the reasons why it is on my must-have list this season.
Treats Burns and Instant Pedicures
My darling two-year-old, has trouble listening. I can tell him not to do something because he will get hurt and he just has to find out for himself, declaring every single time that he WILL do it. And so he does. It will make him a great leader one day but right now, we just call it the terrible twos. Sometimes he stands up and says “SEE! I did it.” And other times like today, he gets a huge blister from burning himself. While. Standing. Next. To. Me! How? After some cold water and ice, he calmed down, and with the DESITIN® multi-purpose ointment, I’m able to treat all his minor cuts and burns whenever he declares he will do it. I also use it to treat dry skin by applying it on my heels before bed (with socks on) and wake up to baby soft skin without needing an expensive pedicure.
Must Have During Cold Season
I’ve always used coconut oil to prevent diaper rash. It’s always worked until one day, it didn’t. My two youngest had a cold, and they alternated waking me up on the hour, every hour. By 4 am, the youngest and the only one still in diapers, could not go back to sleep. He was uncomfortable and inconsolable. I took him downstairs where he sniffled in my arms and started to drift. As I laid him down, he was upset again. Apparently, aside from stuffy noses, fevers, and coughs, colds also bring on diaper rashes. My poor bud had a very red and painful looking rash that he hadn’t had just the night before. Luckily, I listen to my mother sometimes and had DESITIN® rapid relief cream which calmed him down almost instantly and he was able to drift back to sleep. And thankfully, so was I.
Helps Chaffing and More
Zinc oxide, the main ingredient in DESITIN® maximum strength original paste, is used to treat diaper rashes because it forms a protective film on the skin, allowing the skin barrier to repair itself. So I used it on my skin. Yep, you read that right. My upper arms give way to the fact that I suffer from eczema. When I get stressed it flares and so I use a thin layer to soothe my flare ups*. I also put it on my toddler who while he does wear big boy underpants now, can get chaffing from the layers of clothing we now have to wear.
*This product is intended to treat and prevent diaper rashes only. DESITIN® makes no claims that it may treat eczema and this treatment is something I personally do on my skin, not something I nor DESITIN® recommends . Please consult a doctor to know how best to treat your skin.
