The women I come across are winning*, whether in their careers, at their goals, or at life in general. I’m inspired every single time. My social media feed is covered with well deserved humble brags of milestones and accomplishments. During a time when a lot of the news has been negative, I live for the moment when I see someone doing amazing things. It is so inspirational. So I’d like to share with you a new series I have been working on, celebrating the inspirational women I get to meet every single day. Our first, I’ve known as Gaby but Chicago knows her as Gabrielle Raguso, Master Brow technician, and trainer at GLAM’D, the hottest eyelash and beauty bar located in the River North neighborhood. As if she wasn’t busy enough, she’s also a freelance makeup artist with Pin Me Up Chicago, an on-location beauty agency from the same founder as GLAM’D. This 28-year-old, highly sought after artist, is trained in waxing, Sleek Brows, Borboleta Lash Extensions, microblading, and lash lift. While beyond busy, she was able to find the time to answer a few questions about how to be a girlboss.
I understand the irony in that statement, given what we’ve just experienced, but we do win, we will win, and we will continue to do so. Yesterday I wrote about safe spaces and compassion. Because I know Gabrielle personally, I can tell you that this is one of those people that would shield you with her own body even at the expense of her own safety. Find people like this then keep them. It takes more than an amazing career to be an amazing person.
